Just started the game, enjoying it so far. The wild card seems to be gem useage. Its either a long process or costly one to build up gems, so I don't want to waste them due to my inexperience with the game.I watched a couple of tip video's on the game on YouTube but even they differ wildly on what to spend the hard earned gems on.Any recommendations on just what to spend those hard-earned gems on to get the best long-term value out of them? Especially for those of us unfamiliar with the game and starting fresh. Do not spend gems on repairing broken equipment, just replace the gear that breaks.Do not spend gems on upgrades that you normally can buy with gold. Gold is actually very easy to get, just sell flawless item quality on the trade house and rare materials you get from dungeons/chests.Do not buy +max energy furniture, they are not worth it for the amount of gems they cost. The things that I have found are worth spending gems on are:Upgrading dungeon slots (upgrade! Not buying slot), this allows for your heros to rest as soon as the quest is complete. It may not seem much when you are actively playing on the computer because you can just complete the quest and have them rest afterwards.
But later when the quest gets longer and your heroes needs a longer time to rest you will appreciate it when you come back to play after sending your heroes out a dungeon to have them immediately ready to be sent out on the next quest.Buying extra fusion slots. You will be using the fusion cauldron alot to make some good quality gear for your heroes and to perhaps sell items on the trade house. The cost however is stupidly high but worth it in the long run. You get an extra slot after upgrading the fusion cauldron to lvl 6 and it costs 1000 gems.I think this covers most of what needs to be said about the gems. I will also say that upgrading items you craft can 'sometimes' be worth spending gems on but only for the sake of selling it on the trade house for gems. It's a bit of a risk due to supply and demand and not something I would recommend to a new player. Originally posted by:Thank you for the advice!May i ask your opinion about upgrading crafting slots?
Bug Heroes 2 Features: Simply wonderful This is an awesome game blends methodology, resistance, and activity well. The photo is the same as the past, the screen utilizing the 3d mode, however the advancement is the photo from the dull before the light into a solid feeling of metal, splendid condition, the style of nature.
In my opinion it's not a very important investment.Sure, it's nice to be able to craft an item with single click even though it requires a line of precrafts, but eventually this effect disappears. Here are some examples when it is not useful:1. Scimitar requires Good Bastard Sword, Good Bastard Sword requires Good Broadsword, Good Broadsword requires Shortsword. When crafting Scimitars I mass-precraft 8 Swords, then 8 Broadswords, then 8 Bastard Swords. If I were to craft only 7 of precrafts in normal slots and 1 Scimitar in upgraded slot it would be slightly slower and less comfortable, it will also desync one slot from the rest. And it won't solve the problem that you need to give new order to craft after first batch of items is ready, you will need to order 7 instead of 8 though. If I had all 8 slots upgraded this would be much easier, I could just craft all 8 Scimitars without bothering with other items, but upgrading all slots costs too much.
So upgraded slot is not used in this situation (mass-precrafting).2. Slashing Tiger requires Great Sabre. You can't craft Sabres of Great quality easily, so you can't use upgraded slot function for crafting Slashing Tiger. You need to fuse or buy or get through some other ways Great Sabres and then use this slot as you would use a normal one. So upgraded slot is not used in this situation either (crafting some high level items with uncraftable precrafts)3. Same recipe line as in 1. I use Flawless Bastard Swords to fuse with level 25-35 items of common quality to get about 10% at Epic 25-35 item.
So I don't craft Scimitars in upgraded slots, because then I lose a chance of crafting Flawless or better Bastard Sword. So upgraded slot is not use in this situation too (crafting items that have valuable precrafts that would be valuable if they got higher quality)4. (temporal) If I still need to master Bastard Swords, I should not craft Scimitars using upgraded slot's feature because then those Bastard Swords don't count as progress toward the mastery of the item, it's as you've never crafted them. But those 4 are all the situations that I can imagine when the upgraded crafting slot is not helpful. It did help a lot of times when I was crafting several types of items and run out of precrafts on the last one. So instead of crafting 4 items in one slot one after another I was able just to order one final item and forget about the problem. Somehow this situation is rather common.Anyway, in my opinion upgraded slot is good, but unless you have all of those slots upgraded it's usually not that comfortable to use it.

You won't be able to use it on top items (see example 2). And it also loses it's effect when you need to craft a lot of similar items (it's easier to use all slots for same items instead of separating into final and intermediate items).
Other three investments (quest slot upgrade, extra fusion slots, sell slot upgrade) are always useful, so I would give priority to them. Question about upgrading Crafting slots; Do you still gain the experience as if you crafted each piece individually? For instance, like in a post above, to craft a Broadsword you'd need to craft a Short Sword first. So if you did it normally you'd get the xp for creating the Short Sword and then more xp for making the final product; the Broadsword. If you bought the upgraded Crafting slot that simply makes a Broadsword from scratch will you only get the xp for crafting the Broadsword or will you get bonus xp as if you had crafted the Short Sword as well?I realize that upgrading the slot is meant to allow you to craft faster, but I'm not sure if it's worth it, at least in the early game, if you're actually losing xp by upgrading the slot.

Originally posted by:Pre-item made manually let progress mastery about all pre-item & same for final item to sell builded with all pre-item.What about item builded in auto (within upgrading crafting slots with gems)? Or only last item to sell is concerned about mastery? If you are using upgraded slot to craft an item, you only craft the final item.
As Tadaaah said, it just pools all resources (required time included) into one item. So you never actually craft pre-items, so you don't get progress in their mastery.

It only allows you to craft faster if you are not actively playing. If you change requests as soon as they are finished it only saves you clicks, not time. With normal slots:1. Craft Short Sword - 5sec, 2 Iron2. Craft Broadsword - 14sec, 8 Iron, 1 Short SwordTotal: 19secWith upgraded slots:1.
Craft Broadsword - 19sec, 10 IronTotal: 19sec.
